November 29, a postage stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of re-establishment of the patriarchate in Russia to be put into circulation



The All-Russian Church Council was the first Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church since the end of the 17th century. It started on 15 (28) August 1917 at the Assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. Its most important decision was to re-establish the patriarchate in the Russian Orthodox Church.

The postage stamp features Saint Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia 1917–1923, against the background of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

In addition to the postage stamp, JSC Marka is to issue a FDC and a special cancellation postmark for Moscow.

Size of stamp: 37×37 mm, size of sheet: 130×130 mm.
Form of issue: sheet of illustrated margins of 8 (3×3) stamps and a coupon.
