September 28, a postcard with an original stamp dedicated to Samara, a 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Host City, to be issued


The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ will be the 21st edition of the tournament and is set to take place from 14 June until 15 July 2018.

The FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia ™ will be held in 11 cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod and Ekaterinburg.

Samara was founded in 1586 as a guard fortress. Today the city is a major economic, transport, scientific, educational and cultural center. The main developing industries are machine building, oil refining and food industry. In September 2016, Samara was awarded the title of the City of Labor and Military Glory.

The postcard with an original stamp bears several images. The original stamp depicts the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Official Emblem and a scene from a game. The main image features the Samara Boat Monument, the Samarskaya Luka National Park panorama and the Zhigulevsky brewery.

Additionally, JSC “Marka” will manufacture a special cancellation postmark for Samara.
