August 11, a postage stamp dedicated to the Crimean Campaign and the Siege of Sevastopol to be issued as part of the Way to Victory series



The Siege of Sevastopol and the Crimean Campaign lasted from September 24, 1941, to July 4, 1942. During the combat operations, the Red Army soldiers and sailors displayed mass heroism and endurance while defending Sevastopol, the main naval base of the Black Sea Fleet.

The postage stamp features a bas-relief depicting a group of soldiers that took part in the Crimean Campaign and the Siege of Sevastopol during World War II.

Additionally, JSC “Marka” will manufacture first day covers and postmarks for Moscow and Sevastopol.
