June 29, two postage stamps featuring the coat of arms of Azov and Orekhovo-Zuyevo are issued

Azov is a town in Rostov Oblast, and administrative center of Azov District founded in 1067. The coat of arms takes after the ancient coat of arms of Azov. It is a four-pointed cross with all its arms of equal length and flared tips in an azure field, with a reverse half-moon and two sturgeons crosswise below. All the figurines are silver. The coat of arms is listed in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under the number of 2424.

Orekhovo-Zuyevo is one of the largest cities in Moscow Oblast founded in 1917. The red color symbolizes the Morozov Strike of 1885, the largest outbreak of Russian workers in the 19th century. A thin blue line repeating a white stripe outline symbolizes the Klyazma River, which divides the town into Orekhovo and Zuyevo. A branch of hazelwood with two nuts symbolizes Orekhovo. The charadrius represents Zuyevo. The coat of arms is listed in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under the number of 233.

Additionally, JSC “Marka” has manufactured first day covers and special cancellation postmarks for Moscow, Azov, Rostov Oblast, and Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Moscow Oblast.
