The Arctic convoys of World War II were special formations of cargo and guard ships, which sailed from the North Atlantic ports to Soviet northern ports. According to the obligations set forth at the 1941 Moscow Conference, Lend-Lease program and other agreements, the United States and Great Britain supplied weaponry, materiel and other cargoes to the Soviet Union.

The postage stamp features a bas-relief depicting a group of sailors and a convoy that took part in the voyages.

Russian Student Spring is the most wide-scale program of supporting and promoting students’ creativity, which has been implemented in Russia since 1992. A Regulation on the Program is approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and the All-Russian Non-governmental Organization “Russian Union of Youth”.

The program is aimed at perfecting the system of supporting students’ creativity, developing cultural and artistic activities, preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Russian nations, and using the capabilities of Russia to create a positive image of the country abroad.

The postage stamp features the logo and the look and feel of the festival.

A fable is a story in prose or verse of sententious or satiric character, with a short lesson (a moral) in the beginning or in the end. The characters are often animals, plants or inanimate objects given human qualities, ridiculing human faults.

The postage stamps feature illustrations to such fables as The Rooster and the Pearl by Vasily Trediakovsky, The Wolf and the Crane by Aleksandr Sumarokov, The Fox and Grape by of Ivan Krylov and The Hare and the Tortoise by Sergey Mikhalkov.

May 24, a souvenir sheet dedicated to the 175th birth anniversary of Vasily Vereshchagin to be issued

Vasily Vasilyevich Vereshchagin (1842–1904) was a Russian painter and a writer, one of the major war artists. He traveled the world extensively visiting India, Europe, America and Cuba. He took part in battle actions in Central Asia, the Balkans and in Japan. It was all represented in his paintings.

The postage stamp features the Cape Fiolent near Sevastopol (1897) painting by Vasily Vereshchagin, and the souvenir sheets margins bear a portrait of the artist.

May 25, a postcard with an original stamp dedicated to Nizhny Novgorod, the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Host City, to be issued

The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ will be the 21st edition of the tournament and is set to take place from 14 June until 15 July 2018 at 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities. For the first time in history, Russia will host the FIFA World Cup™, and it will also be the first time the tournament is held simultaneously across two continents — Europe and Asia.

The postcard with an original stamp bears several images. The original stamp depicts the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Official Emblem and a scene from a game. The main image features the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin and the historic city center panorama.

May 30, a souvenir sheet dedicated to Astrakhan Oblast to be issued as part of the Coat of Arms of Constituent Territories and Cities of the Russian Federation series

The coat of arms of Astrakhan Oblast was adopted on December 17, 2001. It is a quadrangular heraldic shield with rounded lower corners and pointed tip.

The modern coat of arms of Astrakhan was approved by the Astrakhan City Council. It features a crown of a particular shape above a silver sword in an azure heraldic shield. The coat of arms of Astrakhan is a quadrangular French heraldic shield with rounded lower corners and pointed lower tip.

The postage stamp depicts the coat of arms of Astrakhan, and the souvenir sheet margins feature the coat of arms of Astrakhan Oblast and a map of the Russian Federation with the region highlighted in color.
