Fyodor Savelyevich Khitruk (1917–2012), a People’s Artist of the USSR, was a Soviet and Russian animator, director, script writer and translator.
He worked as an animator and director at Soyuzmultfilm in 1948–1983. He debuted as a director with an animated film
The Story of a Crime (1962), a satiric comedy of noisy neighbors. In 1960, Khitruk directed and wrote screenplays for such films as
Toptyzhka (1964),
Boniface's Holiday (1965),
Film, Film, Film (1968), and many more that won prizes at various international festivals.
