Yevgeny Ananyevich Khaldey (1917–1997) was a famous Soviet photographer and military photo reporter.
The first photographs by Yevgeny Khaldey were published in local press in 1932; he started working in TASS News Agency photography in Moscow in 1936. He went through the war with a camera in his hands taking photos of the main historic events of that time. Pictures made by Yevgeny Khaldey spread all over the world and were included in all the text books and encyclopedias about the Great Patriotic War.
Yevgeny Khaldey was awarded a title of the
Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres at the international photojournalism festival in France in 1995.
