March 1, a postcard with an original stamp dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of Yevgeny Khaldey to be issued

Yevgeny Ananyevich Khaldey (1917–1997) was a famous Soviet photographer and photo reporter. The first photographs by Yevgeny Khaldey were published in local press in 1932; he started working in TASS News Agency photography in Moscow in 1936. He went through the war with a camera in his hands taking photos of the main historic events of that time.

The postcard with an original stamp bears several images. The original stamp features a portrait of Yevgeny Khaldey and a photo film. The main image depicts the Raising a flag over the Reichstag photograph.

March 2, a block of four stamps dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Russian Revolution to be issued

The Great Russian Revolution is a single revolutionary process in 1917, which includes several historical events, such as the February Revolution (which resulted in the overthrow of the monarchy), the establishment of the Russian Provisional Government, proclaiming Russia a republic, the October Revolution and the establishment of the Soviet regime, the convening of the All-Russian Constituent Assembly.

Additionally, JSC “Marka” will manufacture an illustrated cover with the souvenir sheet and first day cover with cancellation (St Petersburg) inside, as well as special cancellation postmarks for Moscow and St Petersburg. A stamp booklet is also to be produced at a later date.

FIFA Confederations Cup is a football tournament for national teams held by FIFA in a country that will host a FIFA World Cup™ the following year. The first FIFA Confederations Cup was officially organized and held by FIFA in 1997, succeeding the King Fahd Cup previously staged in Saudi Arabia.

The postage stamp bears the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 Official Emblem.

March 15, a postage stamp featuring St Michael’s Castle to be issued as part of the EUROPA Stamp Issue program

St Michael’s Castle is a former royal residence in the center of Saint Petersburg, and a major architectural landmark of 18–19 centuries. It was built as a water castle for Emperor Paul I by architects Vincenzo Brenna and Vasily Bazhenov in 1797–1801.

March 23, two postage stamps dedicated to Private Vadim Yermakov and Major Sergey Ashikhmin to be issued as part of the Heroes of the Russian Federation series

Pvt. Vadim Konstantinovich Yermakov (1972–1996) was a gunner of the military unit 3724 of the North-Caucasus District of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. A title of the Hero of the Russian Federation was awarded (posthumously) for courage and heroism shown during a special operation.

Maj. Sergey Anatolyevich Ashikhmin (1977–2012) was a serviceman of the FSB Special Purpose Center. A title of the Hero of the Russian Federation was awarded (posthumously) for courage and heroism shown while fulfilling military duty.

The postage stamps feature portraits of the Heroes of the Russian Federation and the Gold Star Medal.

Semyon Konstantinovich Kurkotkin (1917–1990) was a Soviet military commander, a Marshal of the Soviet Union and a Hero of the Soviet Union. He was awarded with an Order of Lenin, an Order of the October Revolution, three Orders of the Red Banner, two Orders of the Patriotic War 1st class, an Order of Kutuzov 2nd class, an Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky 2nd class, as well as other orders and medals of foreign nations.

The envelope with an original stamp depicts an emblem of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945. The main image features a portrait of Semyon Kurkotkin against the background of a tank battalion and the Gold Star Medal.

March 29, four postage stamps dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Sochi Arboretum to be issued as part of the Russian Flora series

Russian flora is distinguished by its diversity — there are more than 12,500 species of plants, approximately 5,000 mosses and lichens, and as many as 11,000 fungi. The plant kingdom of the Caucasus Black Sea coast is exceptionally rich, which is stipulated by the terrain and several different climate zones present within the region. The best plant collections are showcased in Arboretum Park situated in the resort city of Sochi, Krasnodar Krai.

The postage stamps feature plants growing in Arboretum Park, such as the green snowdrop, Erythronium caucasicum, the date-plum, and the eastern sowbread.

Krassin is an Arctic vessel of Soviet and Russian fleets. She was called Svyatogor prior to 1927, after which she was renamed Krassin to honor a recently deceased Soviet political leader Leonid Krasin.

The postage stamp depicts the Krassin Icebreaker against the background of an aurora borealis.
