December 16, a stamp booklet is issued as part of the Way to Victory series



The victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War would be impossible without the battles of 1941, the hardest year of war. Soldiers and commanders of all branches of armed forces and Navy of the USSR showed genuine courage and selflessness in fight for the Motherland.

The stamp booklet consists of 4 postage stamps dedicated to the defense of the Brest Fortress and the Hanko Peninsula, to the Yelnya Offensive and the Battle of Moscow issued in 2016.

The booklet cover features the famous photograph of the hoisting of the Victory Banner over the Reichstag in Berlin, the inner pages contain stamps and a brief history of the major battles. Also the booklet includs souvenir vignettes, practically repeating the subject of postage stamps. Their pattern is printed using hot stamping on gold foil.
