World War I marked the beginning for change in warfare tactics. New types of weaponry and military equipment, such as aircraft, tanks, automatic weapons and powerful artillery, emerged and started being used on battlefields.
The stamp booklet consists of 8 postage stamps issued as part of “The History of World War I. National Combat Materiel” series in 2015 and 2016.
The inner pages contain postage stamps dedicated to the Sikorsky S-22 Ilya Muromets heavy bomber; the Mosin-Nagant 7.62 mm rifle; 7.62 mm field rapid-firing gun; Mgebov-Isotta-Fraschini armored vehicle; the Grigorovich M-5 flying boat; the Imperatritsa Ekaterina Velikaya dreadnought; the Fedorov Avtomat and a brief history of their invention.
