Kizhi Museum Reserve is a unique historical, cultural and natural complex, a particularly valuable object of cultural heritage of Russia's peoples. The Kizhi architectural complex (Kizhi Pogost complex) is an outstanding monument of Russian wooden architecture and forms the basis of the museum collection. It consists of the Church of the Transfiguration, the Church of the Intercession of the Virgin, the bell tower and the fence which rests on a tall boulder basement. The Kizhi Pogost complex was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.
The stamp booklet contains the souvenir sheet printed on linen textured ungummed paper with the application of silver paste. The booklet cover depicts an all-round view of Kizhi island and the Lake Onega, the inner pages contain information about the museum complex’s history and the description of its foundations and the reserve’s views.
