July 1, a postage stamp dedicated to the All-Russian Agricultural Census 2016 to be issued


In 2016, the regular All-Russian Agricultural Census will take place from 1 July till 15 August and from 15 September till 15 November in remote locations.

All data as of 1 July 2016 will be taken into account when conducting the census. It is aimed at 31,400 agricultural organizations, 29,600 microcompanies, 167,600 farms, 55,000 self-employed entrepreneurs, more than 20 million private subsidiary plots, as well as 80,000
horticultural, market-gardening and dacha non-profit associations, which include 13.8 million plots of citizens.

Preliminary results of the 2016 census are to be summarized in Q4 2017, and the final results will be announced in Q4 2018.

The postage stamp features the All-Russian Agricultural Census logo.

July 5, a postage stamp dedicated to GLONASS, a Russian space-based navigation system, to be issued



GLONASS ("GLObal NAvigation Satellite System") is a Russian satellite navigation system providing real-time positioning services to unlimited number of users on land, at sea, in the air and in space.

The full orbital constellation consists of 24 satellites, operating in three orbital planes, with eight evenly spaced satellites on each. This characteristic grants high stability the GLONASS constellation, which allows dispensing with trimming orbits of the satellites during their lifetime.

The postage stamp features the GLONASS-K satellite and graphic icons representing the main consumers of the satellite navigation system services.

July 14, a postage stamp dedicated to the 850th anniversary of Velikiye Luki to be issued


Velikiye Luki is a large multi-faceted trade, industrial, cultural and educational hub in Pskov Oblast.

It was first mentioned in the Novgorod Chronicle as Luki on the Lovat in 1166. The city earned the titles of “Novgorod neckpiece” and “Moscow auricle” for its military merit. Luki received the title of “Velikiye” (Great) in 1406.

Fierce battles were fought to liberate Velikiye Luki during the Great Patriotic War. The city was conferred a title of a city of military glory in 2008.

The city’s hallmark is the International Balloon Festival, a celebration held in Velikiye Luki annually since 1996 and attracts many tourists.

The postage stamp features the Cathedral of the Ascension of the Velikiye Luki Diocese and a view of Velikiye Luki during the annual balloon festival.

State awards of the Russian Federation are the highest form of recognition for outstanding services delivered by citizens in the defense of the Motherland, in the development of the state, in the fields of economy, science, culture, art, education, pedagogy, protection of health, lives and rights of the citizens, charitable activities and other outstanding services rendered to the state.

State awards are instituted and awarded by the President of the Russian Federation.

The postage stamps feature the Order of Military Merit, Order of Naval Merit, Order of Honor and Parental Glory Order.

Kazan is one of Russia’s largest religious, economic, educational, cultural and sport centers. Thanks to its advantageous geographical location, Kazan since old times has been a trade intermediary between the East and West. The city celebrated its 1000th anniversary in 2005.

The postcard with an original stamp depicts the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Official Emblem, a scene from a game and the Host City landmarks.

World War I marked the beginning for change in warfare tactics. New types of weaponry and military equipment, such as automobiles, ships, aircraft, automatic weapons and powerful artillery, emerged, and started being used on battlefields.

The postage stamps feature the Fedorov Avtomat, the Grigorovich M-5 flying boat, the Imperatritsa Ekaterina Velikaya dreadnought, the Mgebrov-Isotta-Fraschini armored vehicle.

July 29, four postage stamps “2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. Russia in FIFA World Cup™ Tournaments” to be issued



The USSR joined the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on 25 June 1946, a year after the end of World War II. The first tournament the Soviet Union national team participated in was 1958 FIFA World Cup Sweden™.

Russian football players have been qualified for FIFA World Cup™ tournaments ten times. The best result of the Russian team at world tournaments is the fourth place at 1966 FIFA World Cup England™.

The stamps’ peculiarity is that they bear images of genuinely issued stamps dedicated to FIFA World Cup™ tournaments of 1990 and 2014, as well as symbolic images of state signs of postal payment reflecting the topic of Russia participating in FIFA World Cup™ tournaments of 1994 and 2002. This original artistic solution was proposed to preserve the unifying concept of the issue.
