On June 2, the post-treatment left stamp dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Union of Philatelists of Russia

The Union of Philatelists of Russia is the successor of the All-Union Society of Philatelists (AUSP), which was created on 11 March 1966 in Moscow merging the Moscow City Society of Collectors and a number of philatelic associations in other parts of the country.

On 14 October 1989 the 6th AUSP Congress decided to rename the All-Union Society of Philatelists into the Union of Philatelists of the USSR (UP USSR), and the new Charter was approved. Its main trait was that it provided broad powers of autonomy to the Union’s organizations.

The AUSP offices in Union republics, Moscow and Leningrad were converted into Unions of Philatelists and branches in Oblasts, Krais, and autonomous republics were transformed into philatelic societies. In February 1992, the UP USSR was reorganized into the Union of Philatelists of Russia at the 4th extraordinary plenary meeting of the Central Board.

The postage stamp features the Union of Philatelists of Russia logo.

Additionally, FSUE PTC “Marka” will manufacture a first day cover and a first day postmark for Moscow.
