March 3, a postage stamp dedicated to the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communication to be issued



The Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communication (КСС) was created in Moscow on 17 December 1991. The organization is aimed at facilitating cooperation of new independent states in the fields of electrical and postal communication on a voluntary basis, principle of mutual respect and sovereignty

The main goals of the RCC are as follows:

• development of mutually beneficial relations between RCC administrations in harmonizing communication networks and means;
• coordination of scientific and technical policy, management of RF spectrum, rules for setting rates on telecommunication services and settlement payments, personnel training;
• interaction with international organizations in the field of communications and informational support, mutual information sharing, etc.

Full-fledged members of the RCC are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Observers are Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications (Russia) and Eutelsat S.A. (France).

The postage stamp bears the image of the RCC emblem.

Additionally, FSUE PTC “Marka” will manufacture a first day cover and a first day postmark for Moscow.
