The Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Marka” Publishing and Trading Centre, which have signed a licensing agreement with FIFA, was presented the first issues of the philatelic program dedicated to the festival of world football in 2018 as part of the preparation and conduct of the preliminary draw 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.
Friday, July 24, a cancellation ceremony of the artistic stamped envelope “The Preliminary Draw 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™” was held in the Congress Palace (St. Petersburg). The participants of the ceremony were Jerome Valcke, Secretary General of the FIFA; Vitaliy Mutko, Minister of Sport; Oleg Dukhovnitskiy, Head of the Federal Communications Agency. Oleg Dukhovnitskiy has also presented the philatelic program.
During the ceremony, Jerome Valcke, Secretary General of the FIFA, said: "Philatelic programs have become the important component of the activities of FIFA after the issuance of the philatelic collection dedicated to the centennial of our organization in 2004. Since then, we have developed an exclusive program dedicated to the 2006, 2010, 2014 FIFA World Cup and I am very pleased that we continue this trend in 2018".
FIFA philatelic program is an affordable way to keep one of the official products in your home collection in memory of the FIFA World Cup. Today's presentation is the first step towards the implementation of the global philatelic program that will continue as we approach this major tournament for these four years.
"Today we are launching a philatelic program devoted to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. This is the important historical event, which is held in our country for the first time!" - said Vitaliy Mutko, Chairman of the “Russia-2018” Organizing Committee.
“This philatelic program allows us to attract an additional attention of the audience to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ as well as to present the most complete and extensive collection of stamps to everyone who is interested in philately”.
The Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Marka” Publishing and Trading Centre supervised by the Federal Communications Agency developed a philatelic program lasting from today and until the start of the main tournament, in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. This philatelic program includes more than 130 species of the most diverse philatelic items - stamps and souvenir sheets, illustrated covers, ASE, postal cards, booklets.
Oleg Dukhovnitskiy, Head of the Federal Communications Agency said: “Federal Communications Agency and FSUE “Marka” Publishing and Trading Centre entrusted a very honorable and responsible mission to produce the philatelic program of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. Stamps, envelopes and other products will show the beauty and latitude of Russia, as well as capture the highlights of the championship for all inhabitants of the planet”.
Friday's announcement included the presentation of two philatelic issues - the artistic stamped envelope and the postal card. A cancellation ceremony of an artistic stamped envelope with the participation of Jerome Valcke, Vitaliy Mutko and Oleg Dukhovnitskiy was held after presentation.
