October 12, a postage stamp dedicated to the Formula 1 World Championship in Russia is to be released into circulation



Formula 1 is a world championship for circuit open-wheel car racing. It consists of a series of races known as Grand Prix, the winner is determined at the end of each year. The best driver is awarded the world champion title; the best team receives the Constructor’s Trophy.

Teams participating in the races "Formula 1" are used race cars of their own production for the Grand Prix. Fireballs must comply with the technical regulations of "Formula 1" and take the crash-test. Regulations and all racing series are managed by the International Automobile Federation FIA.

October 14, 2010 a contract to conduct the Grand Prix in Russia until 2020, with the possibility of extension was signed.

Race "Formula 1" Grand Prix of Russia will be held on the track in the Olympic Park in Sochi, 100 years after the last Grand Prix of Russia which was held in pre-revolutionary times.
