Awarded (posthumously) the Hero of the Russian Federation title for the courage and heroism shown in the counter-terrorist operation in North Caucasus Region.
Mikhail Yurievich Malofeev (1956-2000) — Head of Combat Training in the 58th Army of the North Caucasus Military District – Deputy Commander of the ‘Sever’ Federal Forces Group in the Chechen Republic, General Major. Awarded (posthumously) the Hero of the Russian Federation title for the courage and heroism shown in the elimination of illegal armed groups.
