The XXX Olympiad ended in London on August 12, 2012.
Team Russia won 82 medals - 24 gold, 26 silver and 32 bronze. Russia is ranked 4th in the unofficial ranking, giving way to the U.S., China and the UK. On the total number of medals the Russian team surpassed its own result at the previous summer Olympics in Beijing.
Considering the importance of the event, an overprint was made on the fields of souvenir sheet dedicated to the Games of the XXX Olympiad in London, with text: " At the XXX Olympic Games Russian athletes won 24 gold, 26 silver and 32 bronze medals".
