№ 1408. 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War

In 2010 Russia marks the 65th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945. Throughout all these years, May 9th remains a national holiday and a symbol of the liberation of our country and the whole world from the fascism.
The stamp depicts the Order of Victory - the highest military order of the USSR, which was awarded to the senior officers for the successful conduct of military operations during or after which the situation was radically altered in favor of the Red Army.
On the margins of souvenir sheet there is a photo of Eugene Chaldea (TASS photo chronicles), which depicts a storm of the Reichstag in Berlin.
