The Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (ITAR-TASS) has been originated from its historic precursor the Saint Petersburg Telegraph Agency (SPTA) established by decree of Nicholas II in 1904. Currently acting the Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (ITAR-TASS) was established by decree of President of the Russian Federation after declaration of Russia sovereignty in 1992.
