On October 1, envelope with a commemorative stamp “The 200th Birth Anniversary of N.P. Ogaryov (1813-1877), poet and publicist” is issued




Ogaryov Nikolay Platonovich is a Russian poet, a publicist and a revolutionary.
 
N.P. Ogaryov was the initiator of the publication of the first Russian explicit newspaper “Kolokol” (“The Bell”). He worked out a social and economical program of the forthcoming revolution. 
 
He considered a literary work as his life's mission, his early works were written under influence of Romanism, their lyrical hero is a modern man of his time, thirsting for freedom, truth and justice. 
 
The vast poetic heritage of Ogaryov includes civil, philosophic, love lyrics and poems («Humour», «Mister», «Winter way» and others).
 
The envelope with a commemorative stamp depicts a portrait of N.P. Ogaryov, a title page of newspaper «Kolokol», issuance №64, March 1, 1860, a manuscript of poem “Prisoner”, a road written set of a poet.
