Fedoskino miniature lacquer painting is folk artistic craft, a kind of traditional Russian miniature lacquer painting with oil paints on papier-mâché that took shape at the end of the 18th century in village of Fedoskino located near Moscow. Today, a lacquer box with a Fedoskino miniature is a gift of prestige and high value. Each handiwork is uniquely designed and has its own certification number. It takes 4 to 6 months to manufacture a box. Miniatures are painted with three layers of oil paints The Fedoskino miniature painting has entered the treasury of Russian national art; it is a national wealth greatly appreciated all over the world. Artists M.S. Chizhov, S.P. Rogatov, M.G. Pashinin, I.I. Strakhov, V.D. Lipitsky, P.N. Puchkov and others contributed a lot to the development of Fedoskino art. Artworks of Fedoskino artisans grace the best world collections.
